Sylvia Petter was born in Vienna and grew up in Australia. She has a BA from the University of NSW in Sydney, studied translation at the University of Vienna and trained as an interpreter with the European Commission in Brussels. She works for a UN specialised agency in Geneva, Switzerland, and lives in France with her husband and daughter.

A member of the Geneva Writers’ Group, the NSW Writers’ Centre (Australia) and the Swiss Romande chapter of International PEN, she has had short stories published in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Europe, the USA and on the World Wide Web. She has a website at http://sylviapetter.com and has just completed her first novel.
