It happened one day as I was passing by old Frank's house. I was taking a letter to Miss, Brinkle. When out of now were it seemed to have happened .The leaves on the ground began to spiral and swoosh around making a tunnel like tornado right on Frank's lawn .I thought I had caught a sent on the air of baked bread and butter. I could see a small glowing substance as if floating in the tornado. I could hear sound's almost as if some one were singing but now not like any song I have ever heard before . I made nothing of it that day I thought it was just a strange way the leaves were blowing around. But what I found was this was nothing to be hasty about.That was my first greetings from some very special magical folk. I walk back to my home I had not even delivered my letter to dear Miss Brinkle. I started out the next day thinking I had sent the letter and found it on the night table next to the book my daughter was reading . I could have swore that I had delivered it to her the day before . I scooped up the letter and started for Miss Brinkle's house. It was strangely quiet almost as if there were no others awake and shuffling through the town which is very strange for the time of day . I walked up to miss Brinkles house and found that she had been working in her garden . It looked very colorful and nice there were hue's of blue and pink roses and some strange looking over sized flower's . I knocked on the door and there stood Miss brinkle . " Oh hello dear " I have been waiting for you "." Dear miss Brinkle I have this letter it is for you it say's urgent I do not know why it was sent to my house who is it from "?. Miss Brinkle took the letter and looked as if she had turned three shades of white scared whit, pale white and pasty white .she grabbed her chest and shrieked. "Oh no "no" no ". I ask Miss Brinkle if she was alright she said "oh dear darling Jim ". "I will be fine it's just she shouted at me mind your nose today Jim dear" . I thought well I would just say good day to Miss Brinkle and mind my own business . Miss Brinkle said" Waite" here dear and ran in to her house and came out with a silver spoon on a chain . She said for me to give it to my daughter Destany and she told me she must wear it for the season. And to take good care of it . I said why thank you and started of to see my friend. Miss Brinkle came running down the step and said "Jim if you do not give this to your daughter there will be great trouble ".I reassured her and said I would . I walked off to my friend Neal's house and I had found that his car needed new tire's .I walked up to Neal and asked him what happened to your tire"? did it blow ware out? ."I think so "Jim have to buy new one's today it's strange but they don't make them like they used to". SO how have you been haven't seen you in week's ?. "I have been just working on a few thing's at home for work " I got a big writing deal from my boss I get to stay home to write it". "I saw miss Brinkle today seemed as though she had seen a ghost". "I don't know what the letter said that I sent her but it really spooked her".Neal asked if I wanted a drink I said that would be great it was a rather hot day and I was getting thirsty after all the walking ." Neal sound's great ". Neal went in to his house to find some refreshment's. I was standing there trying to figure out what happened to his car when I noticed some thing in his tire it was shining. In the sun like a little twinkle I would have never noticed it if the sun did not catch it just so . I picked it up to take a look at it what is this I wondered as I held in my hand .
It was a small metal star with inscription on it like strange letter's I thought nothing of it and dropped it in to my pocket . Neal came with our drink's and said" hay Jim you think I should buy some of those book's at the book fair for my son "?." Sure why not its good to get the kids reading some thing ". "Ya little billy say's he want's a comic-strip book he say's it is loaded with good fun comedy and he has been bugging me all week for it ". "AW Neal buy the kid the book he deserves it "." I guess I will its' only eight fifty what can it hurt "ay "." You know Jim you should take your daughter Destany over to Miss Brinkles she is getting older and I don't think any one really visit's with her". Destany would do her some good ". " that is a great idea," I never thought of that she is such a nice older lady maybe if Destany would go over after school she could help old Miss Brinkle with her garden". " Well Neal I have to get a move on gotta get back to my paper ". "Ok Jimmy See ya soon " " Oh Neal don't be such a cheapskate on Billy ay" . "Go on get going Jim". "Ok see ya later Neal ". On my walk back home I had noticed that Miss Brinkle was sitting on her front lawn in a old wicker knit chair.It looked as though she was talking to some one but I could see no one with her . poor girl I thought and went home .I sat down after making my self a cup of coffee and grabbed my pen ."ok let's get this done" . I looked at the new's paper clipping that my boss had given me to write about it read "Missing three people in mid town mysterious missing three young girls' were playing ball at mid town park no one knows were they are .And there were no traces of any struggle's.police have been looking for the past two day's for missing girls' . Now my boss want's me to write a sub story about what could have happen to the girl's with as much detail as I can," there is not much to go on here well let's give it a go ."I began suddenly it seemed to have darkened in my room and thing's began to go gray I was getting very tired almost as if in a dream state . " Dad are you home"?." Hay Miss Brinkle told me she gave you some thing for me what is it dad"?. Destany walked in to the study and found a little silver spoon on a chain and a small star with some thing engraved in to it .I wonder where my dad is ?". Destany walked over to Miss Brinkles house to see if it was the little silver spoon that she had given her father . "Hello Miss Brinkle how are you" is this what you gave to my father for me "?. "Yes dear hurry hurry put it on it will protect you from the magic enchantments" ."The little people like to play ". " They like to leave you bewildered and confused with out knowing even were you are . " It is horrible "oh look Dear there is one of the little wing people over there by the flower's do you see her? "NO I just see" Waite " it's glowing what is that Miss Brinkle "?. It seemed to be glowing Desatny walked closer to the large flower to get a better look.She saw a little glowing ball like a fire fly and she took a closer look it was not a fire fly it was a small woman with wing's. And she was humming a song the song it filled the air around her then she disappeared in to the flower's giggling. " "wow" that was strange Miss Brinkle I have never seen one of those before what is she"? "She is the flower tender she help's the flower's to grow but do not go to close she will blow fairy dust on you and you will not be able to even remember your name."And you will become one of the lost children".Miss Brinkle started so hum then sing a song. "children children it wont be long until we are all singing the fair fairy song ". Destany swiftly put on the silver spoon and asked Miss Brinkle if she was ok. Miss Brinkle did not answer and kept write on singing . " were is my dad what is going on she ran over to Neal's house "she rang the door bell and Billy answered the door. "hay Destany how are you"?. "wow" Billy when I tell you what I saw to day you will never believe me ". " MY dad said he was finally going to buy that comic for me he said your dad called him a cheap skate ."Have you seen my dad Billy"? "the door was open and no one was home"." I went in to his study and found the little spoon on a chain and no were was my dad". " Miss Brinkle gave him the spoon and said it would protect me ". " "wired that old Miss Brinkle she would forget were she puts on her underwear and put them on her head" and call it her summer hat ". Billy laughed "no I have not seen your father today Destany sorry were do you think he went "?. " I don't know I would love to talk to him to tell him that the three girl's that went missing they say have been kidnapped by some crazy person stealing girl's from the neighborhood". "Well I will ask my dad if you can stay here until your dad get's home ". "Dad" can Destany stay here for a while with us she cant find Jim". "Ya that will be ok" but don't make a mess". " Billy I saw some thing really strange at Miss Brinkles house ."It was a lady with wings and she sing's a song that fill's the air she was glowing and only the size of a firefly". " Destany you have been drinking to much of that old sugar fizz haven't you"." I hear when kids drink to much of that pop they start to see thing's". " No Billy I have not drank any thing just water". "wow Destany you have some really cool stories but I cant believe you on this one". "you make me laugh you know" ."Billy its true why wont you believe me "? . " Hay Destany you want to go over to old Miss Brinkle's place and see if she is still talking off to her self "?. "NO I want to find my dad Billy."He should be home buy now he is writing some thing for his boss" he should be working at home ." I am so worried '. "Destany don't worry so much he's your dad ". Billy and Destany sat down to watch the television. And the new's was on two more girl's missing from Mid town today . "Billy do you know what is happening to the girl's I am worried" ?. " Well I have nothing to worry about "I am a boy and it seems as though they are taking just girl's"." You can stay with us just don't go to Mid town "." Hay we should go to my house and see if my dad came home"."Ok let's go ". Destany and Billy were walking by Miss Brinkles and the leaves started to blow . It whipped by Billy and Destany . Billy and Destany saw Miss Brinkle disappear right from her chair . " Billy " What happened to Miss Brinkle did you see that"?. "Wow" Destany what happened there"?. "YA I saw that". Where she sat was a glowing orb then it was gone poof gone. " Hurry Billy we have to find my dad he can help us".Billy and Destany went in side to see if her dad was home. " Dad are you here"?.Billy and Destany entered the study and there was nothing to found but a paper and some pencils'. "where is he Billy"?. " I don't know Destany do you think they got him to"?. " I hope not ". Destany noticed some thing on the chair it sparkled a bit she looked closer and it was a tiny little pen. " I remember "she shouted. " The little star I found it with the spoon today ". " Do you know what it means Billy"?. Destany took the star from her pocket and handed it to Billy. " WOW" what is this "?. Destany took the pen and held it to the star. It began to tremble in her hand . It flew up in the air and stood strait over the star and it began to write. In silver letter's right there in the air . To you a mystery to me a friend and then it will begin again . " what does that mean Billy"?. " I don't know Destany"?. IT began again if you want to find your father you must go to Mid town . " Billy I cant go to Mid town my dad would never allow it not alone". " We have to do some thing Destany your father has been stolen and old Miss Brinkle and only knows who else"."What can we do"?. " I guess we have to go to Mid town". " unless some were at Miss Brinkles there is some thing to help us"." No Billy I don't think there is " "sorry". "Let's go Destany" we should try". They started down to Mid town and Billy's dad pulled up. "were are you two going I hope your not going to Mid town to many children are missing down there no one know's what has happened to them ". I don't want any thing to happen to you two stay around here"." ok we will " said Billy. " You lied to your dad Bill why " He would have never let us go down there if I said we were going". Let's just go". Billy and Destany found there way to Mid town and found that there was a strange feel to the town different than before. Like magic has filled the air and made thing's a bit lighter . " Billy do you think it was the fairy people?". " I don't know Destany but it seems dangerous here it feel's wrong. There was a girl playing in the park then all of a sudden there was a flash of light and she was gone. "Do you have that spoon Destany?". " Yes I am wearing it it's here". " Good keep it on". They stood in the middle of the park and took out the pen and the star. It began to write a message you will find us here but not as far as the eye can see but closer to me". " what does that mean Billy "?. " the spoon its closer to you and its not as far as eye sight try it". Destany pulled out the little spoon and right then she began to sparkle and she started to fade away then she came back to focus . " What was that "?. "What happened"?. You faded out Destany wow that has some kind of spell to it ". "Are you ok "?. " Yes I am fine I just felt like I was like air and I could hear a song like the on Miss Brinkle was singing". " strange ". She held the spoon and what had happened was she began to fade a way she called for Billy and she could hear nothing but she could see the other girl's they were glowing and walking around talking to some one or some thing . She tried to call to the girl's to pay attention and see what was happening to them. They did not notice she was their they did not even look in her direction.It was like another realm in between the world's like I read when I was at home in my story book. " That's it Billy" She dropped the spoon and said." we have to go Hurry"." What "?. " We have to hurry the story it has the answer ". " What story "?. "What Destany"?. Just come on". the kid's went back to Destany's house and Destany ,frantically looked around for her book." I left it here right here were did it go "?. She found the book on the desk in the study and began to read the story . " There there in the book look it's the star ". "It say's it is from the little girl in the story "she received it from her grandmother and she writes with it to her grandmother and the fairy folk. SHe find's out she is really a fairy and her grandmother has a pen to write back to her". " what "?. said Billy " Look it say's they went to the fairy world to live together to be happy and not alone". "Destany you think the story has to do with every one missing"?. "Yes the Grandma and little girl became friend's with the fairy folk to keep them happy so they would not steal people away ". " It also say's here that who ever has the silver spoon will set every one free and never be lonely and will be honored in the fairy world". " That mean's you ".
" you have the spoon what are you to do with it"?. It say's a pure of hart girl would have to set the fairy realm strait by picking the flower of the fairies and she would be asked a question"."Miss Brinkle's house her garden". "We must hurry". Billy and Destany went swiftly to Miss Brinkle's house .They ran in to the garden." What flower is it Billy"? " I dont Know". Destany held the spoon and saw a glowing blue light around one of the large flowers. She could hear a tiny voice it was the fairy she saw in the morning . " Hello" are you there "?. A song began to fill the air and there stood the fairy on the large flower . " Hello you have come ". "Thank you for not leaving me alone". "Welcome to a new friendship my dear friend". Destany felt a new smile as if it had shawn all through her body like happiness she has never felt before like she was really loved and at home." Destany " Are you ok"?. " Yes Billy I know what I have to do she began to sing a song to the faerie. "free me" free my will "I will love you still". Suddenly Billy could see Miss Brinkle was sitting in her chair and every thing way the way it was before. " It worked" Dest" It worked"awesome". Destany awoke on the grass like if she had had a really strange dream . "Billy what happened". You slipped on the grass and hit your head Miss Brinkle brought out some ice for you and I was so worried about you" " are you OK'?. " YA " YA I am OK ". Destany got up and said she would like to go home . She walked in to her house and found her dad " " Hi hunny "how was the library"?.
"Did you take back the book"?. " Uh ya but I slipped at Miss Brinkles house ". "Are you ok ya I am fine " . The spoon had gone and there was the clipping for her father it had said three girl's awarded with helping the elderly In Mid town . Destany was not sure what had happened. She went to her room to lay down
and she could have sworn that she had heard a voice sinning a song . Then she could hear a tiny voice singing." you are free you are friend you are". You are ". Destany closed her eye's but could still see her friend's.
