Barbara J. Elliott is a senior fellow with the Hudson Institute and a philanthropic advisor with the Legacy Group. She is the founder of the Center for Renewal, which serves the leaders of faith-based groups. President George W. Bush gave her an award for Human Rights in 2001, honoring her work with refugees and the poor. She is the author of Candles Behind the Wall:Heroes of the Peaceful Revolution that Shattered Communism, and scores of articles on civic renewal. Barbara Elliott lives in Houston, Texas.
