Beverly Lewis eBooks
Beverly Lewis is a bestselling author of Christian fiction and children’s books. Born in the Amish community of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, her background is frequently reflected in her novels.
Lewis had worked as both a teacher and a musician before becoming a writer, though she began writing short stories and poetry as a child. However, it was not until years later that she published any work. Her first publications were in magazines for children, and her first book, published in 1993, was a children’s book.
She turned her attention to adult fiction in 1997. That year, the first two books of her The Heritage of Lancaster County trilogy were published. The Shunning and The Confession were followed by The Reckoning the next year. The trilogy became a bestseller and was praised for its representation of Amish life.
Lewis has written six other series of novels, including The Amish Country Crossroads series, Seasons of Grace series, and The Rose Trilogy. Her novels have earned her a number of awards, most recently receiving the Retailer’s Choice Award in 2010 for The Missing. The same novel, part of the Seasons of Grace series, was also named one of Library Journal’s Best Books of 2009.
In addition to her novels, Lewis has continued to write children’s books. To date, she has published over 60 books for kids. These include the Cul-de-Sac Kids series, Summerhill Secrets series, and Girls Only series, among others. She has also published a cookbook of Amish recipes.
Lewis currently lives in Colorado and continues to work as a writer.
