C. Claire Lucka was born July 1956 in Verdun, France. Her mother was French. She is the eldest of three daughters of a proud USA career military man. English is her second language. She and her husband Tom of 34 years live in Indio, California. She has two children, a son and daughter, two granddaughters and two grandsons.

Ms. Lucka has an Associate’s Degree in Corporate Paralegal Studies and graduated with honors. Her extra studies after school to learn the English language prompted her to write. She had an almost 30 year career as an Legal Administrative Assistant. She retired as a Corporate Paralegal in 2002 after her diagnosis of Idiopathic Young Onset Parkinson’s at the age of 46.

She has kept a journal since her diagnosis, has published a poem that she wrote for her daughter’s wedding and finds writing to be her way of expressing herself.
