Charles L. Harper Jr. has served as executive director and senior vice president of the John Templeton Foundation since September 1996. In this position, he focuses on developing strategic leadership and building constructive bridges between science and religion. He has published more than fifty research contributions in scientific publications that have spanned a wide range of topics, including “big bang” nucleosynthesis; the age and chemical evolution of the galaxy; the origin of the solar system; the formation of the Earth, moon, and Mars; and the early geological history of Earth and its core, crust, oceans, and atmosphere.
