Christina Dodd eBooks
Christina Dodd is an American romance novelist. Having worked as a draftsman for an engineering firm, she was an avid reader of romance novels. When her daughter was born in 1980, she began writing her first novel.
Through the 1980s, Dodd wrote three romance manuscripts while working at a bookstore. The last of these three, Candle in the Window, won the Romance Writers of America award for unpublished authors. It was published in 1991, and remains popular.
Dodd followed this with Treasure of the Sun, also published in 1991, and Priceless, published in 1992. She continued to publish novels throughout the 1990s. These included Castles in the Air and Lady in Black, both published in 1993.
In 1997, Dodd moved from HarperCollins to Avon. Her first book published by Avon was Well Pleasured Lady. While many of her love scenes had been cut from her earlier books, her new publisher kept them in. Her particular style of historical romance novels had a growing audience, with many becoming best sellers.
Many of Dodd’s books have fit together, either as pairs of novels or as series. Her biggest series has been Governess Brides, which informally started with 1998’s That Scandalous Evening, which introduced many of the series’ characters. Its actual launch was with 2000’s Rules of Surrender. The ninth book of the series, Taken by the Prince, was published in 2011.
Dodd’s romances have gone beyond the historical sub-genre since 2003. She has published contemporary romances, paranormal, and romantic suspense novels, including 2008’s Thigh High.
