A very entertaining read for sports fans that understand how difficult professional sports really are. Great job, Douglas.

I thought the characters were great and the dialogue was well written. I'm not the largest sports fan, but you don't have to be to enjoy the writing. An excellent read!

Great short story. I really enjoyed this story, as I do all of DouglasM's work on the site Turf Show Times. It was nice to get a look at the human nature of the game. It almost reminded me of what a Brett Favre offseason might be like.

For someone who HATES to read... due to all of life's distractions, I was told I'd LOVE this very short story. Well, I read it, and I truly enjoyed it! Thank you DouglasM for the character Goolie- I'd love to hear more about him!

Awesome read. Author DouglasM has written a wonderful short story that is really worth your time to read. Take the time to enjoy his whimsical sojourn into the life of a former star quarterback.

I love the characters , at first the quarterback sounded like an ass, but he grew on me. I was surprised by the ending, I didn't think that it would end like that.

I loved this and hated to see the story end! It was very entertaining--I really liked the humor and hijinks of Goolie and his crew. The characters were believable-- I heard their voices clearly and DouglasM painted a scene that was "move-in ready". Please call me when there's a vacancy on Amelia's Beach! Great job!!

This story was well written, with a full story arc, and a completed plot. I did find myself kind of "zipping" through the middle of it. That might be because I'm not all that interested in football, or, it might be that parts of the story were over-described which doesn't allow much room the a reader's imagination. In general, not a bad read.

Wow! This is a vivid masterpiece. His colorful explanations make me feel as if I am actually there! I have read Devin Briar written by Doug and it was hard to put down and come back to reality. What an amazing writer! Very funny! I definitely want to read more of his writings!

Cool story with colorful characters and a soul-searching theme. The read is an 'Amelias Beach' of it's own. Not much of a reader, outside of sports reviews and scouting reports, but this is a nice break. I want to read more about these characters in sequels.

Clearly Mr Morrison has game. The story can grab a wide audience and holds the readers attention with solid narrative and great characters. Well done.

Great read. Only wish that Morrison wasn't restricted by the short story format. He did an amazing job with character development with such few words. I tend to take what I read and make a mini movie of it in my head. I had no problem doing that (and with great enjoyment) with Morrison's work. Again, great read.

I thought the story was great, it is something we all can relate to. The frustration of knowing we are past our peak, the humilation of critism, followed by escape , a chance to re evalute. Plenty of humor, a very insightful book on many levels. I highly recommend this story to everyone, its well worth the five minutes to read it.

Started expecting only to read a portion just to see what the story was all about, turns out I read the whole thing and I have been left quite impressed by the author.

Getting lost is sometimes the only way we can find our way... As this story unfolds we can see how laughing at ourselves can open our eyes and spirit to life... not as it is told, but as lived. I thoroughly enjoyed the read.
