Joan Iris eBooks
Joan Iris has loved and written poetry as long as she can remember...which is a very long time. Her first "epic" poem was of her appendix operation at age 11 which ended: "Operations at the time are never any fun, but you can talk and talk about them after they are done!"
Since that long ago time, Joan Iris has found enjoyment in the beauty and intricacies of rhyme. A rhyme opens up new vistas which, fortunately, can be shared with others. An epic poem not only can be lovely in itself but can also teach in a manner mere wordage cannot. Joan Iris learned much about the world after researching for her epic poems on Akhnaton amd Genghiz Khan. And it was a challenge to keep the words flowing as history itself flows. Her book on Joseph Conrad came about when an English class was told to analyze "Heart of Darkness", and she conceived her theory which took many years of research to substantiate.
