Josh McDowell eBooks
Josh McDowell is an American Christian writer. Born in Michigan in 1939, he faced repeated abuse through his childhood. He enlisted in the Air National Guard, but was discharged after a head injury. He studied at Kellogg Community College, where he intended to write a paper examining historical evidence to disprove the Christian faith. While writing it, though, he found evidence to support it and converted to Christianity.
He went on to study at Wheaton College, Illinois, and Talbot Theological Seminary in California. He went on to work for the Campus Crusade for Christ. His first book, Evidence That Demands A Verdict, was published in 1972 and earned him significant attention and fame. It was named as one of Christianity Today’s most influential evangelical books published after World War II.
His second book, 1977’s More Than Just a Carpenter continued his popularity. Since the start of his writing career, McDowell has written over forty books, and has co-authored additional titles. Altogether, he has published 120 books.
Since the early 1980s, he has written a number of books on sex education and relationships. The first of these was 1981’s The Myths of Sex Education. It has been followed by Why Wait? and How to Help Your Child Say “No” to Sexual Pressure, both published in 1987.
McDowell continues to write, with new books published regularly. He also founded a charity, Operation Carelift, in 1991, which works to deliver humanitarian aid around the world.
