I'm not a huge short story fan, but this really kept my interest and left me wanting to know more about the case and about Breanna's back story.

Story drew me in and then just ended. It did not seem like this was finished.

I'm not a big fan of this typical fiction, I will admit, but Lance has a way of twisting dialogue and making me interested in the characters from the very beginning. I'm always left wanting more.

Lance has managed to arouse our interest in a trial that is on its way to becoming just a distant memory for most. To the traditional story we all know, he's added sickness, sexuality and a soundtrack. Some tense changes and typos pester the reader along the journey, but with some cleaning up, this could be a great piece.

Smart dialogue, fast paced, lots of nuance...what's not to love?

"Italian Radio" was intriguing from start to finish. Lance has a gift for writing women well.

As always, your dialogue leaves me jealous.

Dialogue stilted and forced. Confusing descriptions. Unfocused point of view. Distracting tense changes.

I've read Lance for quite some time and have always been impressed with his ability to weave characters and story lines. This is no exception. This piece presented has the ability to become something so much larger and greater. Lance masterfully weaves his characters into someone you know and can relate to. He spins a story on a dime and hooks the reader into not just wanting an ending, but desiring to know the full story.

This is a good story but it has my chief complaint about the stories in this contest...no ending...***sigh*** I would liked to have seen an ending of some sort...okay, so the chic gets out of jail. We pretty much know that from the word go. Good story...needed an ending.

the story is such a great read, it drew me in and hooked me from the first word. I love women with "stories" and "secrets" this has the best of them. WOW.

Great rhythm and pacing, almost cinematic. Reading "Italian Radio" I feel I'm in the hands of a skilled storyteller and I don't want to leave.

The excellent thing about Lance is that he creates unique characters you want to read more about. The story never drags, and I appreciate the edge to his writing.

Love it yet hate that it ended so soon - I want to know more!! I also really like how instantaneous your are drawn to the characters and can vividly picture them in your mind.

Having a soft spot for shady ladies and women of questionable morality, I'd like to know... where do they go from here? Maybe someday we will find out.
