I'm a Londoner by birth and lived there for the first 28 years of my life. The city continues to fascinate and frustrate me in equal measures, even though I've now moved away and live in Kent. I always loved the written word. Books became my passion when I was in primary school. I was either reading or making up stories of my own. When I discovered films as well, that was the icing on the cake. My first viewing of Laurence Oliver as the eponymous 'Heathcliff' in Wuthering Heights - had me hooked on romance - the passionate stormy kind. I like heroes and heroines who love deeply - no holds barred. It probably fulfills that part of my own character that seesaws between conventionality and rebellion! Secretarial work became my chosen career for several years but to tell the truth I never really enjoyed it. When I wasn't up to my ears in typing or making tea for the boss - I was dreaming up stories in my head. Anyway, in 1993 with the encouragement and support of my wonderful husband Gary, I gave up my dalliance with secretarial work and stayed home to concentrate on learning my craft... writing.
