Marie Force was born in Newport, Rhode Island and resides in Porsmouth, Rhode Island today with her husband and two children.

She attended the University of Rhode Island and graduated in 1988 with a double major in journalism and political science. She also earned a master’s degree in public administration through the University of Maryland.

She works as the communications director for a nonprofit in Alexandria, Virginia. The company is devoted to the advancement of government accountability and supports the careers of people in the government financial management profession. She also serve as editor-in-chief of a national trade magazine and oversees many other publications throughout the year.
