Michael A. Stackpole eBooks
Michael A. Stackpole is an American author of science fiction and fantasy novels. Born in Wisconsin in 1957, he was raised in Vermont and went on to study history at the University of Vermont.
He began working as a game designer in 1977. At the time, he also began writing for role-playing game industry magazines. However, his writing career would begin in 1986, when he wrote the manuscript for his first novel, Talion: Revenant. It would be published in 1997, after being reworked by his editor.
Much of Stackpole’s best known novels have been written for the Star Wars and BattleTech universes. He began work on his BattleTech novels in 1987, with the first, Warrior: En Garde, being published in 1988. The second, Warrior: Reposte, was published the same year.
After the Warrior trilogy, Stackpole wrote three additional BattleTech series. The Blood of Kerensky Trilogy was followed by the six-novel BattleTech Core Novel series. His last series, Mechwarrior, concluded in 2007 with Masters of War.
Between 1996 and 2000, Stackpole wrote a series of Star Wars novels, along with several comics. These included Union, in which he covered the marriage of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade. His novels included five X-Wing books, and three focusing on the Jedi.
Stackpole has also published a number of other series. These include the four-novel series of DragonCrown War books, the Age of Discovery trilogy, and The Crown Colonies trilogy. He also regularly publishes an online newsletter for fiction writers.
