Robert Kirkman eBooks
Robert Kirkman is an American comic book author. Born in 1978, he is best known for his work on The Walking Dead.
Kirkman began working as a comic book writer with Battle Pope, which was published in 2000. He began working with Image Comics in 2002, when he published the first of his Tech Jacket series, which he co-created with E. J. Su.
Kirkman worked with Cory Walker to create Invincible, one of his best known titles. The series has included over 95 issues to date, and it is also being adapted for film. Kirkman is also writing the screenplay.
In 2003, the same year Invincible launched, Kirkman published The Walking Dead. The comic series, which follows the survivors of a zombie apocalypse, has passed 100 issues and is still being published. It won the 2010 Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series. The comic was adapted for television, with the series of the same name premiering in 2010. A producer of the show, Kirkman has also written an episode.
Kirkman was hired by Marvel Comics in 2004. Initially hired to write a revival of the Sleepwalker series, he went on to write issues of Captain America, Fantastic Four, and Ultimate X-Men, among others. He continued to work for Marvel as a freelance writer until 2008, when he became a partner at Image Comics.
In 2012, Kirkman launched Thief of Thieves as a monthly comic. Using television writing as a model, Kirkman has written the first issues with four other writers.
