Tim Frater was raised on a dairy cattle farm in East Takaka, South Island, New Zealand. Father of 5 and grandfather of 7 (all small, but not dwarfs), nowadays he lives with his long-suffering wife in Warnbro, Western Australia. As he lives nowhere near the seven jewelled hills and beyond the seventh fall, to this day it remains a mystery as to why Dopey chose him to write his story. He attributes it to providence and his possessing a slightly warped sense of humour. Whatever the reason, he is grateful to assist Dopey in the telling of his story, and to take the lion's share of the credit for it.
