Descriptions
A
World Without Power
This is the story about a group of
environmentalists who shut off the power in North America and other
parts of the world. What would you do if it happened? After a couple of
days, you have no water, no heat, no phones, no way to get gas for your
car or food to feed your family. Do you sit and wait for someone to put
your life back in proper order, or do you take command of the your
future? It happens in June, so you have a chance, if you act fast.
This book is written with many different situations,
different ways of life and how the people involved coped with having no
power. It will give you an idea of how slender the thread is that
supports our way of life in the modern world and how close to the edge
we are.
There is a lot of violence in some of the chapters as
there would be in real life as the population of North America goes from
it's present number down to about three million. Not possible you say, I
think before you are finished reading that you will agree with the
story. If not, then let me know.
Somewhere in this story you will find yourself and perhaps get an idea
about how slender the thread is that keeps us in the modern world. I was
amazed as I wrote it, how close to the edge we are.
Each chapter in this book is a different situation, with the same theme, no power. Somewhere, you will find yourself and your situation before you finish it.

Life Begins AT 63
This is the story of a man who is stuck, and decides to change his life. His wife has died and after a few years, he sells his small business and builds himself a log cabin on the edge of a lake and starts a whole new life.
He has a garden, starts fishing, finds a new love and has quite a few adventures. I could tell you more, but then you wouldn't have to read the book. I really enjoyed writing it, I cried in places, laughed in others and I hope you do the same.

For A World Without Power
I was reading your book and the power went
off, sure made me think.

You're right, we couldn't just go back to the old
ways.

I work in the banking system and shudder to even
think about the problems we would have.

About the Author
I was born in 1928, so had experience with living without electricity. I think most people think that power was always here. I knew when I started this book
that it wouldn't be the same today as yesteryear, trying to survive if there was no power. We just don't have things set up that way. Most of the jobs that we go to would be gone.
I was actually writing another book when the urge to write this one hit me and nothing would do that I set the other aside and get at it. I think someone on the other side was trying to tell me something. At the time, I was living in a log house that was heated by wood and could have been lived in quite nicely without any electricity. I have since moved back to the big city and am dependant like everyone else.
Reading has always been one of my favorite things and like most readers, I eventually thought I could write better stuff than some I came across. Fifty copies of this story were self published and I gave them to friends and relatives. I actually cried when I had the first copies in my hand. This is my first attempt at eBooks and I am presently working on another novel and then am going to do a short story book.
Presently, I live with my wife, another writer, in a small town in southern Ontario. many different jobs have kept me busy over the years, with a lot of
farming and carpentry work.
I was an Immigration
Officer, real estate salesman, fuller brush man and even spent a couple of years sailing
for Imperial Oil on the Great lakes.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. You'll likely go
out and buy a wood stove and an axe.
