The story takes you through the birthing, learning to stand and to drink from its mother to running free with the nearby horses. Illustrated with excellent photographs by Adrienne Wood, the story provides a comfortable way to explain the mystery and beauty of birth to any child.

Amazing and rare photos. Many will observe a mare give birth in a stall. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see what happens 'when no one is watching' so to speak. This lucky photographer just happened to be in the right place at the right time!
Only a handful of people will ever see the beauty of a mare bonding with its colt as seen in this book-- so naturally, without human help, under a tree 'out in the pasture' as nature intended. Many thanks to this equestrian photographer for sharing what the rest of us will most likely never otherwise be able to see.
