Do I Dare Disturb the Universe?

I enjoyed reading this book. It made me think, and it toughened my resolve to expose my kids to as much challenging literature as possible. I admire her mission to raise difficult questions within the safety of a story. It enables children to empathize without placing them in the line of fire. To me it also seems crazy to censor what goes into children's literature to a strict extent given that they are exposed to so much of life on TV, in film and in the curse words of angry people in the street. You can't censor life - you just have to explain it in a way children will understand.
