Eye of the Storm

This is alright for an easy light read. It is pleasant and there is nothing demanding about it. This is fine in itself but there are elements that seem rather weak. One bug bear was the amount of information about the characters that is provided as background. We get all the information from 'telling' rather than getting to see it for ourselves which is a bit much. When I meet a character in a story, I want to get to know her through the story. Of course the odd flash-back reference can be useful, but in this book it was, in my opinion, done to excess. The characters of Megan, Kirstie and Gerard are very likeable, which makes the reader care about them, and what will happen to them. I think the creation of these warm characters is where the author's strengths like.
