"I just wanted to share with you the impact this story had on my daughter and her friend. My daughter's friend was struggling with depression and thoughts of suicide. In an effort to comfort her, my twelve-year-old wrote her a letter explaining the story of the little eggplant. In her letter she stated, "That eggplant is you and the Uncle Eggplant is God. God doesn't want you to be anything other than you. He loves you just the way you are."
The teacher goes on to say: "This story has such a powerful message for our youth, and I'm so glad that you are sharing it with others. I was very touched by the story, as was my daughter's friend."
