Chic Lit at its finest.

I don't normally go for this kind of novel, but I wanted something light as a feather and generous for a change. I wasn't disappointed. Lucky Girl serves up Fate and anti-dates, friendship, weddings and an enigmatic unattainable hero in a large helping. With the reader firmly planted in Jessica's headspace we share her loves, hopes, paranoia and moments of nigh-on complete self-abhorrance entirely from her point of view. I found this quite refreshing as often the POV in a book drifts to allow the reader to peek into the mind and motivations of the other characters. This meant we didn't really get to know the dishy love interest particularly well, but for me that was ok. This was Jessica's story after all.
