What is the purpose of a miracle? What is God saying to us through miracles? The word miracle comes from the Latin word miraculum, which means something wonderful. Marketing gurus use the word to hype products, such as, Miracle Ear, Miracle Grow, the Miracle Diet, and we can't forget movies like Miracle on 34th Street. Sadly, one televangelist entices donations with gifts of Miracle Spring Water. Thus obscuring and weakening the real meaning and purpose of miracles, reducing them to simple marketing schemes.
