A true account of the way the prison service treats its inmates. From the "God Complex" screws and Governors to the inmates and varying degrees of Scumbags who don't even reach the status of "inmate" This book works through the everyday routine that prisoners become accustomed to, some incapable of understanding any other life other than prison life. Prison is a planet far away from normal, hardworking and God fearing society. Would the reader even know that there is one in their town! That would be the high brick and metal walled building next to your local petrol station with knotted together bed sheets hanging from the walls. This handbook helps you understand what to prepare for if your path's the one that's not yellow and made of brick. For those who read this book with no knowledge of prison or its custom's, after reading you will fully understand the damage that is inflicted upon the holiday makers in Her Majesties Prisons. Death, Self-harm, drugs, dirt and the smell of semen and fag ash. Don't read this book if you want to carry on with your cynical views of what you think it's like, your epiphany starts here. Jon O'Brien was raised in Bedfordshire to adopted parents, his father was killed in a car crash in 1983 something which left its scars, Left with his mother at 13 he decided to become the man of the house, buying and selling cars at 16 and thinking of any entrepreneurial ways to make money. Jon understood that he lost the little voice inside his head guiding him through decisions of right and wrong and missed a Father figure role model. Something he later looked for in others. "An educated chancer" is what he calls himself and after dropping out of theatre school where he studied ballet he went into the recording business as a singer song writer. Having some success writing for established artist's the money wasn't rolling in quick enough so he decided to set up a dance music magazine which lasted two editions. By accident he fell into the scrap metal business, by answering an advert in the newspaper offering a company car and mobile phone. After a few mishaps with relationships and not really respecting the law, he landed up in prison after being set up by an expartner. Upon leaving prison Jon started from scratch to build up a scrap metal business with his wife Sonja, now with a turnover reaching into the millions. His life since prison has changed beyond recognition. His law breaking ways have never returned but in contrast his "little voice inside his head" hasn't either.
