As a young man afflicted with severe autism, expectations for Nicolas are miniscule. So debilitating is his ailment that he lives in a world of his own. Unable to comprehend the interactive social graces that bind us together as human beings, Nicolas is isolated and alone.
As a child with little hope for any meaningful improvement, Nicolas is institutionalized at eight years of age. There he languishes for a dozen years, further stifled by the facilities "warehouse" mentality. However, approaching twenty years of age everything is about to change for Nicolas. An unexpected catalyst is about to enter his life in the form of a young nursing student, named Kelli.
