This e book contains 2 English translations of manuscripts on the Sufi music of Kashmir. The first was written in the 18th century by Khushdil, and the second is earlier and anonymous. They served as introductory theory and history for collections of poetry sung during Sufi musical gatherings. While portions of the documents are a combination of Hindu and Muslim religious musical theory - there are also detailed rhythmic notation included. Of particular interest is the discussion related to the use of music as medicine.
