The Beauty Book

I think this is a book every girl should have. It covers all the areas of beauty - inside and out. Nancy Rue pitches the book at just the right level for girls as their body changes and peer pressures grow. Her advice is down to earth, realistic, and probably the same as what any parent would say - if only kids really listened to their parents! As part of the Lily series, this is cool. Girls will want to listen, and what they will hear is a positive message about self-image throughout, strongly underlined by Christian principles: as a creation of God, they are always something beautiful. I can't help but feel this is absolutely the ideal self-help book for teens and pre-teens in learning about grooming and hygiene without tripping over into wanting to immitate celebrities or comparing themselves to others.
