The Death of Sara

A dense fog clings to the forest floor. The river looks cold and the sky is swallowed by darkness. The silence grips Herb's ears and entices his mounting unrest. The eloquent feeling of the unknown that suggests to him causes Herb to take continuous glances at the river as he walks beside it. He has been here before. He has fled beneath haunted trees and once dared a fingertip against the rivers icy surface.
