Not a bad place to start

I like the Everything series and have generally found them a good starting place in a whole host of topics. This one covers the basic/ intermediate principles of music theory applied to a range of musical styles covering the different classical eras through to modern/jazz. It was reasonably appealing and perhaps a good springboard to other music theory books.
