The Little Apple
This is a darling book for children, explaining about farms and what they raise, and how the things that they raise can be used. The author, Deborah Smith Ford, does a wonderful job evoking imagery - and other senses, too! - in her writing, and the illustrator, Susi Galloway Newell, follows through, making a book that's great for children who are too young to read but want a nice bedtime story, as well as those who are reading on their own. It seems to be semi-autobiographical, which I'm sure only adds to the realism. I wouldn't mind a visit to The Little Apple myself.
