This 40-page book has many tips on how to efficiently find information using major search engines.
Here is part of a tip.
Tip #11: Google’s word wildcard (*). “ * ”
In Google, the wildcard (*) (asterisk) replaces whole word(s) (not part of a word).
A lot of examples are provided, including combinations of tips which include various combinations of different search operators, punctuation marks and words to be typed for a search.
For example:
eco-tours site:.org Oahu OR Honolulu OR Maui OR Kauai
”bounce rooms" (inurl:shop OR inurl:store OR inurl:product)
“flash carbonization” site:.gov OR site:.edu
Since most of the of the examples are related to Hawaii, you can learn about searching the Web and learn about Hawaii at the same time.
