Natalie was graciously brushing her hair in front of the mirror, and suddenly Jean-Pierre appeared behind her.
"Allô," he said in a doubtful tone of voice not knowing what his wife's reaction might be. To his surprise, he received a cold Allô in return.
"I'm very sorry about what happened this morning. I swear honey, I have no one else but you. En verité." He began to walk closer.
"Jean-Pierre." She turned around with an assured calmness as he kneeled in front of her. "I'm aware of all the affaires you've had since we've been married."
The shock of the unexpected truth made him swallow his saliva as he widened his eyes with a stare. "What are you talking about?"
"Don't try to defend yourself. Listen, I don't want them calling here. Giving them your phone number means that you have no respect for me."
"Non." He stood up. "I didn't give my number to anyone. Natalie, I love you. I wouldn't do anything stupid to make me lose you."
"Yeah, right. I'm warning you, Jean-Pierre. I won't be the same after the baby's born. I want this marriage to work."
