Shady Gray, a young boy who is picked on every day of his life, watches his parents argue about minor issues.
When his older sister, Kayla, informs the family she is pregnant, their father, Robert, a short-tempered abusive man, blows his fuse and kicks her out of the house.
Angered by this, their mother, Mindy, who wants nothing more than to take care of her children, holds a grudge on Robert. She takes this grudge with her when a smooth talking businessman, Carl, sweet-talks her into going on a date with him.
Emotionally down, Mindy accepts the invitation and looks at it as a friendly night out. At the end of the night, Carl takes advantage of Mindy by raping her.
This one action by her causes the Gray family to spiral downward. A dramatic story about love, life, death, and everything in between will force you to read this novella over and over.
