There are about 10 thousand of Torii gates on Mt. Inari in which Inari Shrine is located.

The life of one Torii gate is about fifteen years and even now the oblation of Torii gates is still carrying on.

On the record, such a custom of oblation of Torii gates began in Edo Period.
