Yes, today's corporate world is very different from thirty-five years ago. Industries have consolidated, markets have become more global, competitive pressures have intensified, communications and technology are dramatically advanced, and the talents for success are more demanding. Gone are three martini lunches and smoking cigars in the Board Room. Societal influences have changed what is considered 'acceptable" behavior and this along with high time demand pressures have made many long standing corporate traditions obsolete. Much of the fun in Corporate America has been replaced by longer more demanding working hours, higher pressure, and learning to adapt to constant change.
