The Gobbledegook feature is an unconnected series of gags, relying often on oblique or abstract humour. As Malcolm says: "I get sidetracked wondering what it must be like to be the only witch in a coven with a sense of humour, or to have the Grim Reaper come and claim a guy, but not be able to get past his secretary"
Gobbledegook is Malcolm's repository for those pointless thoughts, " If I daydream for ages, staring at the wall, drooling, but come up with ideas, then that's called research, but if I daydream and come up with zilch, it's called a behavioural problem.
For ebooks, Gobbledegook is available in single panel form, but McGookin draws each gag as a strip too. "You never know whether an editor is looking for a strip or a panel, so I try and do each joke as both", he explains, "If I can't get them one way, I'll try and get them another. Double whammy. Editors are tricky, but you can sell stuff to 'em better when you shine a light in their eyes".
