The Transgender Classic. Ed Wood, Jr., author-director of such winners of the Golden Turkey Film Awards for worst movie of all time as Plan Nine from Outer Space and Bride of the Monster, was also the author of a number of equally goofy novels and non-fiction books, all about his obsessions: crossdressing and angora. Today, he would probably be a celebrated heroine of the transgender community, but during the 1950s he was deeply conflicted about these urges.
