The Clarks's guide through the Arizona territory is Jock Cameron, a deadly shot who has won fame as an Indian scout. He doesn't believe the gold exists, but he's fallen for Marina. Fighting his feelings for the woman, Cameron is determined to see her and her husband in and out of Mexico safely.

Unfortunately, there are others on their trail, most notably Gaston Bachelard, a former Confederate Army officer turned bandit, and his partner, a Mexican revolutionary. Also chasing our heroes are Perro Loco, an Apache who has sworn revenge on Cameron. And bringing up the rear is the Mexican army, hunting Bachelard and his men, but happy to lay claim to any gold found along the way.
