The town turns ugly when Bill Simpson hires a gunfighter, Johnny Dawkins, abducts Kevin Sundwall and goes after the woman that Mitch loves. Wahkara, an Ute Chief, goes on the warpath, killing all the Whitemen with whom he comes into contact.

Between the Ute Indians and Bill Simpson, the story reaches a climax when Mitch meets Johnny Dawkins on the streets of Silverton.
