Ordering Questions

What is the general process for ordering eBooks?

1. Make sure you have the appropriate reader software installed on your computer or handheld device.
2. Find the eBooks you want, and add them to your basket.
3. When you have all the eBooks you want in your basket, click Checkout.
4. Follow the fast and easy ordering process.
5. Download your eBooks directly from your Invoice Page. Take care not to close this page until you've downloaded all of your eBooks
Note: If you've ordered Email Delivery eBooks, your order will be emailed to you. Most orders are sent within 1-2 business days.

When am I going to be able to download my eBook?

If you've ordered a "Download Now" eBook you can download it directly from your Invoice Page right after you buy it. If you didn't download it from your Invoice Page, you can log in to your account at the View Orders page to download it now.

"Email Delivery" eBooks will be emailed to you within 1-2 business days. "Email Delivery" eBooks only make up around 10% of the eBooks we offer, so it is likely that you'll need to download your eBook. We can not email "Download Now" eBooks to you.

What's an Email Delivery eBook?

Email Delivery eBooks require extra processing and will be delivered to the email address you provide. Most orders are delivered within 1-2 business days. Larger orders may take longer.

I accidentally ordered the wrong eBook format. Can I get my eBook in the correct format?

If the eBook is available in the correct format and it's not encrypted, we can send it to you. Click here to send us the information we need to help you with this.

There are multiple "pending" charges on my statement.

This occurs when you tried multiple times to place an order before it went through successfully. For example, if you try to place an order but enter your address incorrectly, a charge will be generated and immediately a "void" will also be generated. This is simply the way credit card processing works. It can often take a couple business days for the voids to be completely processed, and when they are, those "pending" charges will automatically be removed from your statement.

Can I buy an eBook for someone else?

If the eBook is not encrypted, you can buy it and then email it to someone else. But generally, no.

Do you have gift certificates?

Not at this time.

I'm a teacher - can I order eBooks for my whole class to share?

Unfortunately, not at this time. Most publishers are very concerned about software piracy, so eBooks are sold with encryption that only allows you to read the eBook on specific computers.

We do know that eBooks would be extremely valuable for schools, librarians, and educators, and we would like to offer a discounted program. It is on our list of upcoming projects, and will be available sometime in the future.

I see the same title in the same format listed more than once, at different prices. What's that all about?

Some of the classic titles have been e-published by more than one publishing company. Each publisher is free to set their own prices.

Can you mail me a free catalogue?

Our website is our catalogue. You can start at our homepage or our Store Directory, then pick a format or category to browse through our eBook selection. You can also use our Search feature near the top of every page to search for a particular eBook.

I deleted my eBook. Can I get another copy?

Yes. Login to our View Orders area to re-download your eBook.

I ordered an eBook but haven't gotten it yet.

There are three usual possibilities for this.

1. You ordered a "Download Now" eBook. If that's the case, it won't be sent to you. You are instructed to download the eBook directly from your Invoice page. If you missed that, you can still get it by logging into the View Orders area.

2. Email Delivery eBooks are generally sent within 1-2 business days. Please allow at least a two business days before you start to worry. If you ordered an eBook Friday night it may not arrive until Tuesday night, though that is an unusual situation.

3. Your email system might not be allowing our email delivery of your eBook. Please be sure your email account is not set up to deny email from strangers. A surprising number of eBooks cannot be delivered to customers because their email system is filtering (not accepting) email from strangers. To make matters worse, we cannot email the customer to tell them the situation, nor can we reply to their emails when they start to wonder where their eBook delivery is! Please double-check this.

I bought an eBook but I didn't get it with my confirmation email. Where do I get it?

eBooks are not sent with your confirmation email.

If you ordered a Download Now eBook, you could have downloaded it directly from your Invoice Page. Anytime after that, you can login to your account at he View Orders page to download it.

If you ordered an Email Delivery eBook, it will be sent to you within 1-2 business days.
