I would like to say that I enjoyed your story, but .. that would sound so wrong. This is not a story to be enjoyed. Your writing is very vivid and disturbing. I felt as if I were in the truck with Shannon. I could see her mother watching and worrying for her. And yes, I could hear the scream as he choked the life out of her. A disturbing story to say the least, but very well written. If you have the time please read my story 'Drift Away' and leave a review to let me know if you liked it.

So sad. You really evoked those emotions, almost as if I was actually watching it all when she was being killed. I did think you would draw that part out longer before going on to talk about her parents and her body not being found for two decades, etc. So I thought the transition was too fast. The topic is one that is not likely to be forgotten

Nothing hurts more than a story about work that ends in death than one written by a worker. I really hope the author can change her life. Obviously, she sees it ending badly. This is a cry for help, not a short story.

Well written and eerily true to life in the Pacific Northwest.

Wow, not sure how to respond to this story...it's so heavy that I can't shake off the suspense! This one really stands out to me and manages to seem unique in spite of using some common plot themes. Sad and dark, but fresh and leaves you wishing there was more!

Simple. Short. Chilling. A meditation on the moment a life turns towards it's final destination in a way that is unexpected for most, but a continual risk for those in Shannon's profession. Furthermore, it is a unique perspective on a trope that often serves as a polt device in police procedurals. If anything, it needs to be longer and more detailed!

My heart is still pounding and I'm having trouble not crying. Beautifully, heartbreakingly written.

Dark and likely a true story many times over. Excellent writing. Nice job Ashly.

Really liked this one. Especially when the main character wishes there were a god so that she would have someone to talk with in her mind. She has no voice left, only the quiet one of her thoughts. Scary detail. Would love to see this expanded into a novel. Would also love to see more fiction from Ashly! Paul

Very very good. Strong, yet vulnerable voice. You want the main character to find a better struggle for herself or a pretty woman ending.

i love Ashly Lorenzana's writing style. The author's voice for the main character is deep and complex in tone. The reader feels as the character is disclosed, layer by layer. It is a significant story line that suggests a sobering social commentary. Very enjoyable read--though not a light hearted indulgence.

Well written. Good read. I felt helpless along with the protagonist. I wish it was more memorable for me.
