Story: The Lala Land

Each week authors will be given a new question to answer which will lend additional insight into their story and writing process. Do you have a question you'd like to see the authors answer? Tweet it to @aNextAuthor!

What is the best writing advice you've ever heard?
I think just be simple and original .
When you start a new story do you prepare an outline in advance or do you just jump right in?
I Prefer jotting down the main ideas and then make a rough draft before I submit a final one.

Your story shows great imagination and a passion for writing. Lala Land would be a nice place to visit. The gentle giant, fairies, and the cloud cars are vividly brought to life. This story reminds me of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Ronald Dahl. I did notice a few things in your text. You wrote: 'Everything looks new and exhausting for her and she is fade up with her teachers at school.' It should be 'fed up'. There are a few instances where the word you used doesn't seem to fit. I loved the way the characters spoke to one another, but when writing dialogue you should start a new paragraph each time you change speakers. It is easier for the reader to tell which character is speaking. Again great imagination. If you have the time please read my story 'Drift Away' and leave a review to let me know if you liked it.

It's a lovely concept and is sure to be a hit with children as it is very imaginative. However, you need to work on your narrative. It sounds too much like it is recited, and the reader finds it difficult to identify with the characters. Also, proper paragraphs should be used, whenever there's a new speaker and to make the reading easier on the eye generally. There's a lot of potential here.

Hey Srijita I like your style. Its smooth and simple and the best part of your story is you make people laugh. Thats important and I think this story is somewhat realistic with a fantasy touch. You said you did Health Science but your writings seems to be too good and i thought you did special training on creative writing. My best part in the whole story was when the fountain water turned to be chocolate and ya of course the ending was sweet to turn the evil monster into a flower.Nice thought. I like it .Votes for You Bom.Com
