Dave Cassenti

I am a Math teacher and Learning Skills Specialist at Watkinson School in Hartford, CT. I have been a teacher for the past 12 years and have taught all sorts of weird and unusual subjects. I have had the chance to go to Space Academy for Educators (paid by Honeywell), a Nuclear Energy Workshop through the Idaho National Labs, have applyed to become an astronaut with NASA. I am interested in the paranormal and in zombies and vampires (Sorry, Twilight fans, but VAMPIRES DON'T SPARKLE!). My most recent crazy idea was to take part in NaNoWriMo, where I am writing a novel about the original vampire who attempts to save humanity from the devil's interference through Moses, Kings Saul, David, and Solomon before finally meeting Jesus Christ and becoming one of his disciples.

Story: The Ring of Typhon

This is a really good story. I loved the way you portrayed Kaine's obsession with the ring, the constant checking of the mail. (I guess I'm kind of like that with this contest, always checking for new reviews and stories.) It was evident that the ring had become the most important thing in his life; he left work unfinished, didn't notice that his wife had left him and just locked the dog in the basement without really trying to find out what was wrong with him. The ending was perfect and really tied it all together. Good story. If you have the time please read my story 'Drift Away' and leave a review to let me know if you liked it.

Great Read!

I love the way things seem to "follow" the ring!
