America's Next Author!

Born and raised in Hawaii, crazy abusive father, bible thumping prayerful mother, 5 sisters. Was victim to physical, sexual and mental abuse at a very young age, blocked out most of my childhood. My smoking, drinking, drugs and black outs started at age 11. Moved and travelled a lot in my life. Have lived in 28 homes including this current one, in Hawaii, California, Australia and Nevada. This crazy-girl portion of my life ended abruptly at 20 when I got thankfully knocked up by the worst guy in town. My little girl saved my life. Went back to school, graduated with a BA in Psychology. Went on to become Executive Director of the Luis Oasis Senior Center and then the Director of the Alzheimer's Care Unit for LSRC. Now just moved back to Hawaii, it was time to come home. Living my new adventure, working on finding my new job, loving being home in the islands. To sum it up...

Story: Once Again

I loved the first part of this story, where the main character and her predicament come across so vividly. In much the same way as the other reviewer, I thought the second half was less interesting, and I found the ending confusing. My suggestion would be to go back to the part where she fell through the ice and perhaps have her be rescued by her creepy neighbor instead! Then turn the second half into a completely different story. Hope you find my suggestion useful. Please take a moment to read my story, "Dating Safari," which has a few surprises of its own, and let me know what you think.

This story is like a two for one sale. The first half is really good and I was interested in what was going to happen to Beth. Would she make it to the neighbor's or would she freeze to death? Then she fell through the ice and Wham! A different struggle for her life is on! Even though she doesn't know it. It is almost like the first and second half contain two different characters. It didn't quite work for me. If you would like, read my story, 'Drift Away' and let me know what you think of it, by writing a review.
