Sasha Sanchez

I'm 23 years old, born in Ukraine but currently live in Brooklyn, New York. I interned at BlackBook Magazine and ran my own online magazine where I interviewed many interesting writers such as war journalist Scott Anderson and tv writer Eric Schaffer. I co-wrote an independent film in New York. I worked for a local newspaper covering controversial stories such as the underground gambling ring in Harlem, and a criminal enterprise being run out of a Coney Island flea market.

Story: A letter to my little brother

Good story. This gives a whole new meaning to "I was just following orders". The commanding officer didn't want to fight either, but he had to make sure that his men were ready to die fighting. There was food to be had (for the rich) but no one was willing to share it with anyone else. Brother turned on brother so to speak. No wonder everything was falling apart. What must it have felt like to watch your death rowing closer and closer? I did notice one thing in your text. You wrote: 'Perhaps if it required less effort to kill a fellow Roman, I would spend less time contemplating if I had known them before I disserted.' Disserted should be deserted, I think. Again good story. If you have the time please read my story 'Drift Away' and leave a review to let me know if you liked it.

I liked this story. But I like historical stories...I think the author did a good job of telling the story in such a way that you can clearly see the difference in social status, and by the end of the story you know why that is breaking down.
