The story traces the life of Acorn who, like all of us when we are little is a massive balloon of a girl floating overhead who catches everyone's attention. As she grows, she comes closer to earth until she is the same size as everyone else, no longer able to fly, discovering that the attention she received must be returned to those who gave life and to those who come after. This dawns on her when one morning she finds her parents in a bowl of cereal, shrunk till almost too small to see, as will happen to all of us in time, disappearing to the naked eye as we age. Acorn has failed and her selfishness to appreciate this basic life truth: we all have to help one another. Mother and father are deposited in each ear so that she will always hear their advice as, grounded, she learns to take care of herself and be a good neighbor and friend. Author Bio: Timothy Jeffrey has been an optioned screenwriter, but returned home to Detroit to self produce "You Are Here," his 2007 feature film that he also distributed himself and still tours the country. He has ghost written speeches, and book chapters in the past; written and directed commercial videos and documentaries; and continues to perform readings of his poetry and stories. He continues as a playwright and short story writer who, to stay alive, has hired out variously as a writer, director, teacher, public speaker, counselor, as well as book and film editor. Over the years, Jeffrey designed and presented his own courses in parenting for families, and nonviolence for elementary and middle schools. Currently, he is consulting on and providing interventions for troubled children in schools at the same time of his release of his light-hearted scold on parenting, "Because I Said So: Raising Your Children's Parents." His musical comedy for the stage, "Parking at Bell Creek" goes into production in 2014 and his play about Muhammed Ali's entourage, "Ring Around" begins readings in fall of this same year.
