Designing with Grasses shows gardeners not just what grasses are available, but how to design with grasses in different settings, including meadows, lawns, green roofs, and more. Design ideas are supported by carefully devised maintenance techniques, design checklists that make designing achievable by gardeners of all ability levels, and lists of grasses best for a variety of situations, including low-maintenance, drought-tolerant alternatives to the traditional lawn grasses and grasses suitable for green roofs and erosion control. An encyclopedic A to Z of grasses includes profiles with information on growth and care.

A delightful book on design

I think grasses are just gorgeous and I've been looking for a good book on the subject for some time. This book gives all the information you could possibly need, from information on the grasses themselves to how to use them in design. The fact that this book has clear, color photographs is a massive bonus for me as I have trouble remembering plant names. The photographs are truly beautiful and give you a clear idea on the use of grass in design and lay out. I also found the advice on suitable garden tools to be surprisingly useful. When I bought this book I expected it to be good as it wasn't cheap, however I never thought it would be this good! If you only buy one book on grasses then it should be this one.
